COMPOSITION:
Each ml contains:
| Kanamycin Sulphate equivalent to Kanamycin base |

MODE OF ACTION:
Kanamycin sulphate belongs to the aminoglycoside
family. It blocks or alters protein synthesis in bacterial cell.
This blockage is done by binding at the 30-S ribosomal unit. This
attachment of Kanamycin to the ribosomal unit is irreversible resulting
in bactericidal effect.
SPECTRUM:
KANASYM has bactericidal effect on gram
positive bacteria, Staphylococcus & Streptococcus Spp. and gram
negative bacteria Salmonella, Klebsiella, E.coli, Shigella Spp.
INDICATIONS:
Infections caused by kanamycin sensitive
microbes. i.e Mastitis, Pneumonia, Skin, & Soft tissue infections,
Coryza, Collibacillosis. It is also effective against urogenital
infections e.g Cystitis, Endometritis and retention of placenta.
DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION:
Unless otherwise prescribed, the
following dosages are recommended i.m or i.v:

KANASYM should be administration by s.c.
or i.m. route.
SIDE EFECTS:
In long term therapy aminoglycosides have
nephrotoxic and ototoxic effects.
